Wed. Dec. 8

Video:
shooting tip:
Shoot it again!
Even if it seems perfect the first take, always shoot a couple more takes.
-The actors might do something slightly different/better.
-Get different types of shots for more choices during editing and a more interesting looking segment.

Tues. Dec 7

Video:
Show, not tell.
Film is a visual medium.  Don't explain everything about the characters and the story, show it.

* Think of an example with the person next to you.

An example from 4th period: Instead of someone saying that they got a haircut, show them walking into a barber shop with long hair and then walking out with a new short cut.

You can also show a side of the character's personality.  Instead of the character saying that his life fell apart when his wife left him, show him looking slovenly, depressed, a stack of unpaid bills on the counter, dirty laundry and dishes strewn around, etc.
